How To Use The Scanpst Repair Tool

Microsoft Outlook is the most prominent email client application used by millions of users across the globe. It offers simple but effective tools for email management and organization. Users can even configure multiple email accounts in Outlook and manage separate accounts via a single application easily. It is also easier to organize contacts, calendar events, schedules, and tasks with the Outlook application.

Outlook stores all the data in the specifically allotted space in the computer hard drive in PST file format. Usually, Outlook application encounters errors when the PST files are corrupted or damaged. To fix the errors associated with PST file corruption, Microsoft offers an inbuilt repair tool, namely Scanpst, to scan and fix the damaged entries.

This repair tool analyzes the PST file directory structure, and verifies mail entry references and headers as well. When the scan is complete, it displays a log file with the detected errors and then fixes the issues allied with them. Yet again, some users report that the Scanpst tool fails to repair the errors in the program. This usually happens when the Outlook repair tool is unable to determine the PST file corruption. However, most of the times, this tool successfully recovers the errors in the Outlook application, and is worth giving a shot.
If you want to use the Scanpst utility for your Outlook issues, the below given set of instructions will help you in the concern.
