Steps to follow
- Scanpst utility is installed with the Microsoft Office Outlook application, and is located in the system folder by default. To find the Outlook repair utility, open Computer and move on to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office folder. Open the Office12 directory and locate Scanpst.exe file.
- If you do not find the Program Files (x86) folder in your C:\ drive, move on to the Program Files directory and open Common Files. Click on the System subfolder, and locate MSMAPI or MAPI directory in the resulting window. Scroll through the entries until you find a folder with a numerical name like 1033. Open the folder and locate Scanpst.exe file.
- Click on the executable file to launch the Scanpst repair tool. Specify the PST file to repair and click on the Start button to proceed.
- Mark the checkbox against Make backup of scanned file before repairing to create a BAK file for the data backup, and click on Repair button to start fixing the issues.
